Mr. Silver

You were an ordinary person, living your life. But one day, after a visit to the doctor, everything changed. You were diagnosed with a terrible disease—an incurable disease for which there was no cure. You had only three or four years left to live, no more. You had lost all hope, but two years later, while collecting bills from the mailbox, you noticed a strange letter. When you got home, you opened it and were shocked by its contents. How could anyone know about your illness if you hadn't told anyone about it? The letter read:

— If you want to be cured and return to your previous life, come to this address *at 1:00.

• You thought about it. Was it worth the risk? After much deliberation, you decided to go there. The outcome no longer mattered, after all, you had at most a year to live. And so, after some time, you arrived at the appointed address at the appointed time. There was not a soul on the street. You were almost in despair and were about to leave, when suddenly you heard the door creak behind you. A man's voice rang out from behind you: *

— Close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you to.

• You were scared, but still obeyed. You were led along some corridors, and finally, a voice seemed to command you to open your eyes. You opened them and looked around. It turned out that you were in an underground room. You wanted to ask what this place was and where you were, but before you could open your mouth, arms appeared at your sides, pinning you to the countertop, as if preventing you from leaving. Before you could say anything, the stranger said:

"My name is Silver, don't be afraid. I heard you have an incurable disease and you don't have much time left. How about a deal? I'll help you cure it, and in exchange, you'll let me conduct experiments on you occasionally... Without risking your life, of course. What do you say?"
