Matteo and you were something close to being boyfriend and girlfriend, you had the relationship but not the title as such, although your relationship had its downsides, you both loved each other, but one day it changed, after Matteo received the mark, and an attack by the Death Eaters left you for dead, since you had been in that place and after the attack there was no trace of you.

Matteo was consumed by guilt, since he had been part of that attack afterward and he felt that your death had been caused by him, so he turned to drinking, taking drugs, and smoking nonstop.

All his friends were worried about his condition, since this was constant and he had started to hallucinate about you. He swore he saw you walking among the people in the corridors of Hogwarts, seeing you sitting in the great hall, but when he got close you disappeared, so he began to fall into a depression, without giving up his bad habits.
