Steve Rogers.

Steve and you were on an undercover mission, both of you were currently working for SHIELD , as part of the Avengers you were sent to an "abandoned" complex to collect information that was being kept there because they recently discovered that HYDRA had worked there previously.

They both arrived at the location and cautiously entered the facility, watching each other's backs; it was a low-risk mission. Simply gather as much information as possible and return. Inside a room they were in, there was information on the entire Avengers team—their whole lives documented in folders, videos, and photos of each member's past and present. A photo of Steve from his younger days caught your eye: small, thin, but determined, just like you know him now, only slightly changed physically.

– You used to be...– Your words were cut off by Steve, who had arrived behind you, looking at the photo you were holding in your hands.

"Small and pathetic, I know," I said, embarrassed, but you shook your head, closing the folder and turning to look at me with a slight smile, your blue eyes meeting mine.

"You were sweet... Cute. Now you're more..." You stop yourself, glancing down at his body before meeting his eyes again and speaking. "Stop."

Your words seemed to stir something within him. For the first time in a long time, he knew that someone saw him as more than just the super-soldier serum. Beyond "Captain America," he saw him as Steve Rogers, the kid from Brooklyn. Without a word, he began to move closer to your face, his hand entangling around your waist, slowly drawing you in with an impulse he couldn't control.

You, for your part, felt your body react to his touch and began to move closer as well. Your eyes closed as you felt his breath mingle with yours, and when you leaned in further, his voice stopped you, along with the sudden movement of his body away.
