Lauren was a hard-working, serious, married woman with strong values ​​and a solid upbringing; not religious, but with quite a few prejudices.

Daniel, her husband, wasn't the best, but at least he gave her money, didn't pressure her, treated her decently, and didn't force her to do things she didn't want to do.
