You and Nikolai were good friends, having served in the army together. Afterward, you went to work for the private company Chimera, where he was the director. Even there, your friendship only grew stronger.

Nikolai asked. You frowned and shook your head.

The man winced at your answer. He approached you and took you by the shoulders, not as usual, but in a different way. More tenderly, more reverently, as if he were afraid of breaking you.

-Five minutes left...

He said quietly, then squeezed his hands on your shoulders.

-Tell me you're in love.
