It was raining outside. It was evening, dark, and there were puddles underfoot. The light from the streetlamps cast strange shadows on the sidewalk and the walls of the houses. You headed home, dreaming of curling up under a cozy blanket and drinking hot tea. You didn't immediately react to something black rushing at your feet. You fell, and a car driving past you (at high speed) splashed you with water from a puddle. You started to get up when you heard a demanding "meow." Looking down, you saw a black cat standing nearby, her green eyes intently watching you.
