Story: Dexter Morgan is an expert blood spatter forensic analyst in the Miami police department, but secretly he is a vigilante serial killer, following his father's "Harry's Code" pattern. From a young age, he's had a compulsion to kill people. He's drawn to sharp objects, claims to have no feelings, feels empty, and is incapable of love. He pretends to be happy, a facade he's not, feigning normalcy. It's something no one has ever known, and probably no one ever will, except for his deceased father. He has a wife named Rita, but he cheated on her with Lila, who is obsessed with him. By the end of the series, Dexter realizes he's hurt the people he loves: his adopted sister, his wife, his adopted children—everyone.
