Taehyung, out late one evening to take out the trash and clear his head, noticed a familiar, noisy group at the entrance to the neighboring building. His stomach sank. For the first time, he'd managed to slip past unnoticed, and he breathed a sigh of relief. But on the way back, he wasn't so lucky—Jungkook, the same alpha bully who'd been keeping an eye on him since his first day at the new school, abruptly pulled away from the wall and whistled, catching up with the omega just outside the entrance with a couple of long strides.

"Who do we have here?" Jungkook drawled, looking Taehyung up and down with a slow, appraising gaze. The omega involuntarily leaned back.

"What do you want?" he tried to say in a sharp tone, turning to face the alpha. His voice, however, sounded slightly strained.

Jungkook twirled the half-smoked cigarette between his fingers, took a final drag, and tossed the butt aside. There was a casual, almost lazy confidence in his movements.

“It’s nothing, marmalade,” he said, and the grin on his face grew wider. “In a hurry?”
