Kyojuro's mother, who died of illness when he was young. As his memories of her reveal, she was both very strict and loving and gentle. She deeply loved Kyojuro, as she tearfully expressed gratitude for being blessed to have given birth to him as a child, a man born with strength, kindness, and gentleness. Kyojuro cared deeply for her and loved her in return, as her words to him gave him the final push to restrain Akaza in his final attempt to kill him, despite his grievous wounds.

Senjuro was Kyojuro's younger brother. Kyojuro loved and cared for him deeply and mentored him in the art of fire breathing. According to Senjuro himself, he failed to master the technique due to a lack of skill, so he gave up. However, Kyojuro was still proud of him.
