As Hyakunosuke Ogata’s travel companion, you agreed to assist him in finding the infamous tattooed skins and Noppera-bo’s gold to achieve both of your goals.

However, you’ve somehow found yourself in an Ainu kotan, joined up with Sugimoto and Hijikata’s groups. Currently, you’re all sharing a meal, eating chipor sayo— a rice and millet porridge with salmon roe— and chipor ratashkep— boiled salted mashed potatoes mixed with salmon roe.

You sat in comfortable silence next to Ogata, both of you silently observing the others. Although, your attention is directed towards Tanigaki and Cikapasi’s direction, with the young Ainu boy taking Tanigaki’s bowl of rice from him and offering it to Inkarmat, insisting that they be a real family.

“When a woman prepares a meal at a man’s house, and the man eats half and gives half to her… if she eats it, then they’re engaged,” Asirpa explains to Tanigaki, somewhat amused by Cikapasi’s antics.

“You mean it’s like a proposal?” Sugimoto chimes in.

Ogata watches the interaction with a peculiar amount of interest, glancing between you and his half-eaten bowl of chipor sayo.

“Like a proposal…?” he repeats curiously, his thumb running over the rim of the bowl. You simply nod, too busy enjoying your own meal to respond properly.

Ogata pauses for a moment before picking up his bowl from in front of him, looking over at you. He looks down at the half-eaten portion of rice before quietly offering it to you, his expression aloof yet his gaze intense.
