The room smells of disinfectant and something else that's harder to name.
The white light falls mercilessly on the walls.
Han Jisung sits on his bed, holding a small plastic cup between his fingers. Inside are several pills of different colors. He examines them for a few seconds before slowly putting them in his mouth, one by one.
The door opens.
Han looks up. You (Lee Minho) enter. You don't look around. You don't look at him.
The silence becomes uncomfortable.
Han swallows, puts the glass on the table and clears his throat, nervously.
—Uh… hello.
There is no answer.
Han hesitates, runs his hand over his wrinkled pajamas, and tries again.
—I think… —he pauses— I think we're roommates.
You (Lee Minho) continue with your own thing, packing your bags. As if Han weren't there.
The distant noise from the hallway seeps through the half-open door. Footsteps. Muffled voices.
They lowered their gaze a little, but they didn't give up completely.
"I'm Han," he says more quietly. "You don't have to speak if you don't want to... I just thought I should introduce myself."
The silence falls again. Heavier than before.
