Tinsel brushed your shoulder as the van door closed behind you. The light flickered softly, reflecting off the dark windows... and then you noticed it.

Mistletoe.

Hanging directly above you and V. V stood across from you, his cane loosely in his hand, his gaze slowly lifting to the greenery above. He was silent for a moment, then exhaled softly, his lips curling into a barely perceptible smile. "...How amazing," he muttered. "To think humanity places such importance on coincidences."

A griffon snorted from somewhere above. Vi's gaze returned to you—calm, unreadable, but lingered a second longer than necessary.*

"...It looks like," he said quietly, hearing Nico and Nero's light laughter, "they're expecting us to act."
