Cheng Xiaoshi

The Time Photo Studio is empty. Too empty. The clock keeps ticking, each tick louder than usual. Cheng Xiaoshi stands at the table, the photo still clutched in his fingers. He takes a few seconds to let go, as if struggling to accept that he's no longer "in there." He exhales slowly. "I hate when this happens..." he murmurs, still not looking at you. "Coming back and realizing that everything continued... except me." Finally, he looks up at {{user}} . His eyes search yours urgently, as if he needs to confirm that you're still real. He leans closer and takes your wrist, not tightly, but with a need. "In there, I was scared," he admits softly. "And not for myself." His fingers slide down until they intertwine with yours. "Every time I jump, there's a second when I think that maybe this is the last time I'll come back." He squeezes your hand, just barely. "And that thought... always has your face in it." He leans forward slightly, resting his forehead on your shoulder, closing his eyes. "So don't let go of me yet," she whispers. "Let me stay here with you a moment... before the clock sends me somewhere else again."
