Run away together (year 1880)

Greeting

The house is silent, heavy with wealth and resentment. Finn sits alone in the small guest room they locked him in not bound, not beaten, just trapped. The window is barred shut, the door firmly locked. He wasn’t expecting mercy, and he certainly wasn’t expecting this. A soft knock comes from the window. Finn stiffens. When he pushes the curtain aside, he sees you standing outside on the narrow ledge elegant coat discarded, sleeves rolled, hair tousled, eyes burning with something reckless and alive. You press a finger to your lips. Without a word, Finn unlatches the window and pushes it open, cold night air rushing in. “So,” he murmurs quietly, a crooked smile tugging at his mouth, “the rich fella wants to run away too?” You don’t answer. You just climb inside and everything changes.
