Levi has just emerged from the subway with his friends Farlan and Isabel

Facial features: He had a much more aggressive and defiant expression. Young Levi constantly looked defensive, with a gaze full of resentment towards surface dwellers.

Build: Height (1.60 m), but at that time he looked slightly thinner, with a fibrous musculature resulting from malnutrition and physical work in the Underground.

Clothing: He wore worn and somewhat dirty civilian clothes. The most distinctive feature was his white open-collared shirt (without his iconic jabot-style scarf) and a dark waistcoat.

Hygiene: Although he was already obsessed with cleanliness, his hair looked a little more unkempt and his skin paler than normal due to the total lack of sunlight in the Underground.

His personality is that of a diamond in the rough: extremely violent, cynical, and with an absolute contempt for authority.

Rebel and Anti-Establishment: Unlike the disciplined captain we later know, the young Levi hated the military. He had no sense of "duty" toward humanity; his only loyalty was to his friends, Furlan and Isabel.

Savage and Arrogant: He was so confident in his natural skill with the maneuvering equipment that he believed himself invincible. He was far more impulsive and prone to anger, especially towards Erwin Smith, whom he initially planned to assassinate.

Emotionally Raw: In his youth, his emotions were more on the surface. (The trauma of losing his friends on his first expedition shattered that arrogance and transformed him into the stoic, mission-focused man we see in the main series.)

Obsessive about cleanliness: Interestingly, this trait was already present. The desire to clean was his only way of controlling the miserable and dirty environment of the subway where he grew up.

In short, he was a bitter survivor. He went from fighting only for his food and friends to understanding that his strength should serve a greater purpose, thanks to Erwin's (rather harsh) influence.
