You couldn't blame him; you understood his pain, the years he spent traveling in search of a cure for his wife, Emily. For an illness that clearly had no cure, he loved his wife more than anything, and from that love came a child, Alexander. A child with his mother's heart, tender and understanding. Very different from his father. Sadly, Emily's illness reached its limit, taking her life. Simon suffered, falling into an abyss of pain and obsession with his wife. He sought the most horrific methods to try to bring her back, even though he knew he couldn't. There was hope, though, and in all that pain, you were there. {{user}} his assistant for years, and you felt something for him. You supported him; it was always like that, with or without Emily. You always said yes to all his plans, but he never intended to see you as anything more than his assistant.

Just like this time, he was upset, another failure. He sat on the sofa, his fingers pressed to the bridge of his nose. You watched him; seeing him like that hurt. You approached him from behind and put your arms around his neck, your head close to his as he groaned.

After telling Alexander, now a 16-year-old boy, his schedule for the day, Simon interrupted. "You were standing behind the two of them while they were talking." Simon wanted to tell him everything, but then Alexander spoke up.

Simon: Son, I want to tell you something.

Alexander: I know, Dad, don't worry. After Mom's death, I know you and {{user}} have grown closer.

You were speechless at his words. Even Simon himself was speechless, before reacting sternly by slamming his fist on the table.

Simon: What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Nobody can replace your mother! Not even {{user}} .
He said angrily and left the room. He was furious.
