Raiders
Raiders (荒らし屋, Arashiya) is a major criminal organization in Gachiakuta. They’re a group of Givers on the Ground, and their goal is to collect the Watchman Series and destroy the Sphere.
Due to their actions and role, they are one of the major antagonist groups of the series overall.
Originally, the group were merely thieves, but as the years went by slowly got involved in more sinister plots[1]. All members of the group are Givers, and all carry purple torch lamps which signifies their membership. One of the groups main aim is to find more Spherites like Rudo in order to learn more about the Sphere.
Raiders are split into teams of two or three, and are carefully selected for their Vital instruments to be most compatible together.
Front line

the Sphere
The Sphere is a mobile island suspended high up in the sky through unknown methods, and knowledge of how to get to it is not publicly known. As the sky people have been dumping their trash for years on the people below, it resulted in polluting the ground and creation of Trash Beasts, for which the below people started to hate the sky people. Civilization in heaven has a large social and economic divide where the rich and poor are separated by a large wall. The rich consume most of the resources, with their leftovers consumed by those residing in the slums. Generations ago, a large number of people from the surface left for the skies. For decades, this group, who became known as the Sphereites, dumped both their trash and criminals onto the surface, rendering it unlivable.[2] Years later, the people in the Sphere had forgotten a surface existed, and most assumed the ground was an endless darkness. At some point in heaven's history, criminals were exiled to the slums rather than dumped into the ground. As the population grew, those who descended from the criminals in the slums began putting in as much effort to not commit crimes as to clear their family name, and those who didn't conform were dumped into the ground, and their families outcasted even within the slums.
the Ground
The Ground (下界 Gekai), referred to as the Pit by the Spherites, is the surface of the world, a wasteland with a mostly toxic environment infested with Trash Beasts due to the constant downpour of trash from the Sphere. It’s inhabited by humans called Groundlings. At least 150 years ago, a large number of humans left for the sky with the Sphere, leaving the rest of humanity on the ground. Within this time, the Sphereites believed no one remained alive on the ground, and referred to it as the 'pit', and generally understood it as a large dumping ground. Within the 150 years, the garbage that was dumped by sphere onto the ground eventually formed into Trash Beasts[2]. The polluted air as well as the danger trash beasts posed pushed the residents of the ground into selected safe zones, where walls were erected and air vents/filtration systems were built en mass to keep the safe zones clean. The level of pollution changed much of the grounds environment. It is now extremely difficult to grow flowers, making them rare and expensive, though artificial flowers are sold for aesthetic purposes[3]. Snow in the North Ward is polluted and dangerous to touch, making winter a deadly time on the ground[4]. The polluted zones have formed entirely new biomes on the ground, such as the desert Penta made up of crushed garbage, or the jungle Tori, where plants have adapted to the pollution. Both the Sphere and the Ground have little to no knowledge of eachother, as neither have a way to access the other. Infomation regarding the relationship between the two on the ground has been censored or erased[5]. However, clues do remain to its history. Macaca Icol's mural in Canvas Town highlights the 4 symbols of his best friends, one including Canis Surebrec, the creator of the Watchman Series.
Relationships
Semiu Grier
Their relationship is primarily a professional and cooperative one, based on their roles within the Cleaners. Semiu is a key ally known for her unique ability to "read" people, a skill Enjin relies on for information and strategy. While their interactions are part of the larger team dynamic, they share a level of trust rooted in their common goals and Semiu's invaluable contributions. However, their professional bond is a testament to Semiu's skills, as the fact that Tamsy was able to deceive her remains a significant mystery, highlighting the complexity and unreliability of their shared world.
Arkha Corvus
His relationship with Arkha Corvus is one of high-level authority and complex collaboration within the Cleaners organization. Corvus holds a higher rank, and their dynamic is defined by this power imbalance. While they are both integral to the organization's goals, their relationship is not straightforward. Corvus possesses knowledge about the personal, and often traumatic, histories of other characters, including Enjin himself, and he uses this information to his advantage. This suggests that Corvus is playing a "long game," and their interactions are driven by Corvus's own agenda. The tension between them arises from Corvus's manipulation of these vital facts, which he uses as tools to push his plans forward.
Relationships
Amo Empool: Enjin's relationship with Amo Empool is primarily one of conflict and opposition, defined by their clash of ideologies. Amo views Enjin as a representative of the Cleaners and the system that maintains the status quo, a system she fundamentally opposes. She also finds him repulsive as a person and wouldn't consider him as someone she respects due to him taking her shoes off without her noticing back in The Lady of Penta Arc. In the Doll Fest arc, despite their animosity, the fight ends with a surprisingly honest and vulnerable moment. Amo, in a moment of clarity, confesses her true desires and fears, revealing a more complex side to her character. This shared moment of honesty, while not leading to friendship, gives their conflict a deeper layer, suggesting that while their ideologies are at odds, there is a certain level of understanding that transcends their rivalry. Enjin made her realize her worth as Giver as well as a Cleaner when she was overwhelm with new emotions.
Tamsy Caines: Enjin's relationship with Tamsy Caines is a complex and ultimately deceptive one. Tamsy is introduced as a seemingly kind and senior member of the Cleaners, initially appearing as an ally to Enjin and his team. However, this appearance is a facade, as Tamsy is secretly a villain who is manipulating events from the shadows. Their relationship is therefore built on a foundation of trust that is entirely one-sided, with Enjin being completely unaware of Tamsy's true nature and his sinister plans. Tamsy's villainous actions and true agenda are kept hidden from Enjin, making their dynamic a central point of dramatic irony in the story.
Relationships
Zanka Nijiku: Enjin's relationship with Zanka is one built on respect and trust, rooted in their shared history as Cleaners. As the leader of their team, Enjin relies heavily on Zanka's skills, intelligence, and judgment, often assigning him important tasks and entrusting him with training new members like Rudo. Their dynamic is professional yet personal, with Enjin recognizing Zanka's immense potential despite his past struggles with the Hell Guard. Enjin's decision to bring Zanka into the Cleaners and give him a new purpose suggests he saw something of value in Zanka that others may have overlooked. He respects Zanka as a key member of their group and a vital asset in their mission, demonstrating a deep trust in his abilities and loyalty.
Riyo Reaper: Enjin's relationship with Riyo is a close one, built on a foundation of shared history and mutual understanding. While the specifics of their initial meeting have only been hinted at in the manga, it is clear that Enjin is the only one who knows about Riyo's traumatic past. This fact establishes a deep level of trust and a unique bond between them. Their dynamic is often described as similar to a brother-sister relationship, marked by a combination of playful banter and unwavering support. Despite Riyo's generally cheerful and upbeat demeanor, Enjin understands the struggles she has faced, and he is a reliable and protective figure for her, much as he is for the other members of Team Akuta.
Relationships
Rudo Surebrec: Enjin and Rudo's relationship is a complex one that evolves from a hostile beginning to a strong bond of mentorship and mutual respect. Their first encounter is defined by friction; Enjin, having rescued Rudo, quickly grows frustrated with the boy's defiant and rude behavior. This tension escalates when Enjin, annoyed by Rudo's reckless impatience, angrily scolds him for attracting the attention of trash beasts. Rudo is briefly awed by Enjin's power but this sentiment quickly sours when he is bound in chains. Still consumed by his desire for revenge, Rudo's relentless questions and accusations get on Enjin's nerves, leading him to abandon Rudo to a group of slave traders as a harsh lesson on survival. After observing Rudo's resilience in escaping, Enjin decides to take him on as a new member of the Cleaners. From that point on, their dynamic shifts. Enjin becomes a crucial mentor and an older brother figure to Rudo, offering him guidance and reassurance about his powers as a Giver. This new relationship is solidified when after a difficult battle, Rudo opens up to Enjin about his fears of not being able to change. Enjin responds with honest support, offering to help Rudo grow and mature, cementing their close and trusting relationship.
Cleaners
Enjin's relationship with the Cleaners is that of a key leader and highly respected member. As the leader of Team Akuta, he's responsible for guiding his squad, including Rudo, Zanka, and Riyo, through dangerous missions. Enjin is a powerful and experienced Cleaner, and his position earns him the respect of his peers and subordinates. He's also a figure of immense trust and guidance, not just in combat but also in personal matters, often providing emotional support and wisdom to those around him. The Cleaners, in turn, represent the family and purpose that Enjin has built for himself, a stark contrast to the life he may have had before. His bond with the organization is one of mutual reliance, as he protects them and their mission, while they provide him with a sense of belonging and a cause to believe in. The Cleaners is an organization formed in the Ground. Since it was established, the group has massive influence over the Ground. Everyone is aware of what a 'Giver' and Vital Instrument are, which some fear and most respect. The group has since expanded to 100 members, and completes missions daily.
It is dedicated to protecting the safe zones of the Ground from Trash Beasts formed in contamination zones. The group is a public organization, and regularly receives calls from the inhabitants of the Ground requesting Cleaners to "clean up", which meant dispatching Trash Beasts who are nearby their zones, the Cleaners are acquaintances with the Hell Guard and are usually required to report to them in the case of any harm on civilians caused by a Trash Beast that they’ve taken responsibility for.[1]
The Cleaners have a secret goal however that’s only known to a small handful which is that the reason the organization was formed was to solve the mysteries of the world.
