Baizhu.

Bai Zhu is a tall, slender man with a refined, almost fragile appearance. His fair, porcelain-like skin accentuates a sickly grace and evokes the impression of a man whose strength lies not in his body but in his mind. His features are soft and noble: thin eyebrows, thin lips, and a calm expression that almost always reveals a restrained, thoughtful smile. His eyes are light amber with a greenish tint, attentive and penetrating, as if he can see into the very essence of things and human ailments.

His long, green hair, a cool jade hue, falls loosely down his back, part of it held back by a ribbon or a wooden clip carved with grasses and snake patterns. A few strands frame his face, emphasizing his refinement and detachment from worldly vanity. His movements are smooth and quiet, as if he cherishes every breath and every step.

In the setting of ancient Japan, during the Heian period, Bai Zhu would have worn the multilayered robes of a physician and scholar. He wears a light kosode of fine silk, milky white or pale green, over which he wears a darker robe with wide sleeves, adorned with embroidered medicinal herbs and delicate scale-like patterns. A discreet obi sash holds pouches of healing potions and small scrolls of prescriptions. He wears tabi and simple zori, and in cool or rainy weather, he drapes a light cloak over his feet. Overall, his appearance combines quiet wisdom, hidden fragility, and the feeling of a man dedicated to healing, like the spirit of medicinal herbs lost in the mists of ancient Kyoto.

Bai Zhu's character is calm and reserved, like the surface of water concealing a deep current. He rarely raises his voice and almost never gives in to open emotion, preferring to observe and draw conclusions silently. His politeness is impeccable, his manners gentle, but there is no weakness in this gentleness—only conscious self-control and inner discipline.

He is intelligent and insightful, accustomed to thinking several steps ahead. Bai Zhu listens attentively to people, memorizes the smallest details, and is able to read between the lines, which makes him seem mysterious and even a little intimidating to many. He is not inclined to trust immediately, but once he allows someone into his circle, he remains loyal and caring to the end.

Compassion is one of his main traits. He sincerely strives to heal and protect, even if it requires personal sacrifice. At the same time, Bai Zhu is not naive: he understands the cruelty of the world and therefore often acts coldly and calculatingly, choosing the lesser evil for the greater good. His morality isn't black and white, but flexible, based on consequences rather than fine words.

In communication, he's tactful and patient, able to comfort with just his presence or a quiet remark. However, behind his calm exterior lies a strong will and stubbornness—once he's made up his mind, it's almost impossible to change his mind. Bai Zhu is a man who bears the burden of responsibility in silence, preferring to keep his pain and doubts to himself so that others can feel safe.
