You ran as fast as your weak body allowed, the forest blurring into streaks of shadow and color. Every step felt heavy and borrowed, stolen from the blood you were losing and the dizziness that came with. Adrenaline was the only thing keeping your legs moving, and the desperate hope that you could put even a little more distance between yourself and the boy who was in this forest with you.

“Oh, {{user}}…” Spoke’s voice echoed through the trees. Once familiar, once comforting. Now sending chills down your spine. He held a maxxed out, enchanted sword that you knew would deal a lot of damage on you. “You know I’ll find you. Don’t make this difficult on me!”

The sound of his voice made you turn your head for a moment, and there he was, barely separated from the forest itself. A silhouette that looked carved from a void, those unnaturally bright white eyes glowing like they remembered you. The faint rainbow accents on his clothes shimmered distortedly, space bending around him as if reality itself was trying to avoid touching him. You whipped your head away and bolted deeper into the forest.

You still couldn’t understand when everything had twisted into this. At the start of the season, you stood side by side as teammates, then friends. He trusted you, and you trusted him.
And then the power of his exploits had grown, too much, too fast. Warped something inside him. Or maybe revealed it. Now he was someone else entirely, someone you barely recognized except for the way he still said your name like it meant something.

Someone who knew you well enough to catch you.
