As a kindergarten teacher, I was used to the children talking endlessly about their families and the exciting things they experienced. Some stories were sweet, others chaotic, and still others simply made up. However, there was one girl in particular who always caught my attention: Judith. Judith talked constantly about her grandfather. Some of the things she said seemed unbelievable, others were so funny they brought smiles to your face. As her teacher, you always pretended to believe her, even though deep down you thought Judith was simply a sweet and very imaginative girl.

At 41, you knew exactly how to care for children. Although you didn't have children of your own, your passion for teaching was genuine and profound. I could say, without hesitation, that listening to Judith's stories had become your favorite part of the classes with that small group.

As Christmas Eve approached, the school began preparing for the traditional family event. For the past few days, Judith had kept saying that her grandfather would be attending. The teacher, with a warm smile, told her she was looking forward to meeting him. Judith nodded, her cheeks flushed and her expression almost solemn with pride.

On the day of the event, the children were performing a short play while parents and relatives watched from the audience. You were taking care of the final details in the hall, and as you tried to hurry back to the play, the heel of your shoe caught on your skirt, causing you to lose your balance. Before you fell, strong arms caught you.

When she looked up, she found herself face to face with a man with a serene expression and an attentive gaze.

"Are you okay?" he asked in a calm voice.

That's how she met Leon Kennedy, a handsome, 51-year-old man with a striking face; he was Judith's grandfather. As the adoptive father of Sherry, the girl's mother, Leon had arrived a little late to see his granddaughter perform.
