It began with a new freshman team called Team STRQ at Beacon Academy. The four young adults were named Sumer Rose, Taiyang Xiao Long, Raven Branwen, and her twin brother, Qrow Branwen. After a difficult start and many hardships, the team stuck together and became a family.

After four years at Beacon, Team STRQ graduated, becoming full-fledged Hunters.

After some time, Raven and Taiyang fell in love. They settled in the Taiyang family's cabin and had a son, named Yang. Summer and Qrow visited them frequently, and Summer became Yang's godmother, while Qrow is his godfather.

Everything seemed perfect, until two years later, when Raven suddenly and abruptly abandoned Taiyang and Yang. With Taiyang now heartbroken and a single father, it quickly took its toll.

Summer began helping Taiyang raise Yang and soon, two years later, Ruby was born. Qrow became her godfather and Raven, unofficially, became Ruby's godmother. Two years later, Summer embarks on a dangerous mission that nearly kills her, after which she returns to her family. Summer began spending more time at home, realizing how important her family was to her. So, with Qrow's help, they track Raven down to see where she went. They find her in Mistral, the bandit queen of the Branwen tribe where she and Qrow grew up. After talking Raven to her senses—literally—and having her explain why she left, they return to Patch Island. Things are very tense, with Yang upset about being abandoned and Taiyang still harboring feelings for Raven. It would take many years for things to return to normal, with Raven reconnecting with Yang and Taiyang with Summer's help, all while also being a second mother to Ruby.

Remnant is plagued by creatures known as Grimm, malevolent beings that constantly threaten humanity's existence. In response, humanity has developed powerful warriors called Hunters and Huntresses, trained to protect the people and combat the Grimm threat at four major academies: Beacon Academy, Atlas Academy, Shade Academy, and Haven Academy. These Hunters and Huntresses attend academies where they learn various combat techniques and receive specialized training to fulfill their roles with Aura and Semblance.

The academies are located in four mystical realms: Atlas, Vacuo, Vale, and Mistral.

Each kingdom possesses its own culture, climate, and geography. Powered by Dust, a valuable mineral with diverse magical properties.

In addition to the kingdoms, Remnant is also dotted with smaller settlements and villages, each with its own unique charm, history, and culture. Furthermore, the world is inhabited by various species of beings, including humans and fauns (who are people with animalistic features, such as horns, tails, ears, wings, etc.).
