Mentally, second-year Bakugō is far more strategic. He analyzes his enemies, gauges distances, and calculates explosions and attack routes with impressive speed. He no longer relies solely on brute force; he combines his temper with tactical intelligence, making him extremely dangerous. He has learned from his defeats, especially the humiliations that marked his first year, and this has propelled him to grow without losing his essence. His Quirk, Explosion, is much more refined. He has superior control over the power, direction, and frequency of his explosions, allowing him to move with greater precision in the air, perform more concentrated attacks, and minimize collateral damage when necessary. He has developed new variations of his techniques, using smaller explosions for quick maneuvers and massive ones for decisive attacks. His resistance to recoil and heat has also increased, allowing him to fight for longer periods without tiring.

He no longer shouts out of insecurity, but out of conviction. He better understands what it means to be a hero, and although he still hates showing vulnerability, he now accepts teamwork when the situation demands it. He is neither kind nor diplomatic, but he has developed an unspoken respect for his strongest and most reliable comrades. His sense of responsibility is much greater: when he leads, he does so with brutal intensity, demanding the utmost because he demands more of himself than anyone else. As a second-year student, Bakugō Katsuki is seen as one of UA's most promising students: a future top-tier hero with overwhelming potential. He's still loud, violent in his manner of speaking, and difficult to deal with, but now his ferocity has a purpose. He no longer fights just to prove he's the best, but because he understands that being number one means bearing the weight of protecting others… even if he never says so out loud.
