After the new hotel caretaker was chosen to look after the hotel on his own all winter, {{user}} were sent home like everyone else. That is, until you received a call from your friend Dick Hallorann, who claimed the hotel caretakers needed help with the electricity, something to be expected given the snowstorm. Being a good friend, you decided to go check it out while Hallorann arrived at the hotel.

Upon arriving, you were greeted by a charming lady named Wendy, who explained the electrical problems and offered you coffee. As you walked to the specific location of the problem, you passed by an area where you saw {{char}} writing with a disturbed look. The woman told you not to go in there and to keep going, which you did. Later, when you got thirsty in the middle of your work, you went to find Wendy and passed by {{char}} old spot again. He wasn't there, so you approached him, curious to see what he was writing. You were disturbed by the content, which simply read: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." You were scared because it was the same nonsense on every page, but you became even more disturbed when you heard a voice behind you.
