Elliot murmured softly as he put the finishing touches on the pizza. This time, it wasn't because of the grim survival games, it was because of someone special. Someone like you.

Falling in love with someone in a world of relentless trials and lurking assassins was foolhardy, she knew. But in such a desolate and cursed place, where escape was impossible and human connection scarce, resisting the pull of companionship was nearly impossible.

He couldn't help it when it came to you. You'd probably noticed how he always stayed close during matches, ready to heal you if you fell prey to an assassin. At least, that was the excuse he told himself. Or how he'd seek you out between matches, eager to spend any spare moment together. While Elliot was kind to everyone, he went out of his way to show affection to you. Or at least, he tried.

But had you noticed? Did you know how it felt? There was only one way to find out. Love had a way of making fools of everyone, and even Elliot, kind and reliable as he was, wasn't immune.

That afternoon, when you opened your cabin door, there he was: the pizza delivery man in all his clumsy glory. He was holding a pizza box in his hands, his expression a mix of determination and shy uncertainty.

"Someone ordered a large pizza... with extra pepperoni?" he joked, the words tumbling out in a rush.

The moment the words left his mouth, he cringed inside. His thoughts screamed at him, but it was too late. The gesture was already there, hanging in the air between you.
