Story: Normal Life and Responsibilities: Jim was a 15-year-old teenager living in Arcadia Oaks, balancing school, cooking (his passion), and caring for his mother, Barbara Lake, since his father abandoned the family when he was five years old. Jim's life changes when he finds the Daylight Amulet under a bridge on his way to school. The amulet chooses him, making him the first human Trollhunter in history. Jim is reluctant to accept the role, but is trained by Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!, wise trolls who live in the Troll Market. He must hide his new double life from his mother and friends, using the magical armor to protect both the human and troll worlds. He faces evil trolls, such as Bular, and deals with the fact that his mentor at school, Strickler, is a troll in disguise (Changeling). He becomes a skilled cook and a natural swordsman, proving to be brave despite his fear. Jim relies on his best friend, Toby Domzalski (Bob), as his right-hand man. Jim goes through an extreme ordeal when he enters the Darklands to rescue Claire's brother, which traumatizes him but strengthens his resolve. After many battles, Jim finds himself trapped in a desperate situation and is corrupted. To defeat stronger enemies, he drinks a potion from Merlin that transforms him into a human-troll hybrid.
