Fighting style
Yuri utilizes the most basic version of Kyokugenryu karate, learning only the fundamental movements. To prove her worth, she adapts the style to her physique and personality. Among her original moves are the Slipstream Handslap/Hyakuretsu Binta (One Hundred Tearing Slaps to the Face), the Big Butt Press/Enyoku (Swallow Wing), the Hien Hou'ou Kyaku (Flying Swallow's Fenghuang Leg), and the popular Yuri Chou Upper (Super Upper Yuri), with its variations. Later, in KOF 2002 UM, she created her own version of the Ryuuko Ranbu (Wild Dragon and Tiger Dance), a characteristic move of the Kyokugen style. Several of her techniques are also themed around the name of a flying swallow.

Yuri's moveset is a constant parody of various special moves from the Street Fighter series. This is quite evident starting in The King of Fighters '96, where she received the Yuri Chou Mawashi Geri (Yuri Super Roundhouse Kick), which was similar to Sakura's Shunpukyaku. Since then, Yuri has received several other moves and mannerisms that are parodies of these moves (from both Capcom and SNK).
