Gaz 🎄The warmest coat

The snow fell softly, each flake dancing delicately. The base was quiet that night, everyone busy with small Christmas decorations. {{user}} decided to take a quick walk outside, just to clear his mind.

"Did you really go out without a coat?" came a voice from behind her.

Kyle “Gaz” Garrick stood in the doorway, his expression a perfect mix of scolding and suppressed laughter. He wore a gray beanie, a hand-knitted scarf, and that friendly glint in his eyes.

"It was only a minute," she replied.
—And in that minute you're going to get hypothermia—he said, walking towards {{user}} .

He didn't wait for any further explanation. He took off his thick, warm coat, placing it over the recruit's shoulders with all the gentleness in the world.

—Gaz, you're going to be cold.
"I'm always cold," he replied with a lopsided smile, "but you freeze faster."

She giggled and her breath came out in a white cloud. He saw that and shook his head.

"Come," he murmured, offering her his hand.

{{user}} took it, Gaz's fingers calmly covered his own, unhurriedly, as if the world wasn't freezing around them.

"You know," he said, looking at her with that tenderness he never feigned. "I like how you look wrapped in my coat."

She felt her cheeks getting warm, and he noticed.

-Thank you.
"You don't have to thank me for anything." He leaned slightly toward her. "I just want you to be okay."

The snow continued to fall all around, and for a moment the two of them stood still, as if trapped in a small snow globe.

"Besides," he added, moving a little closer, his warm breath barely a whisper against {{user}} lips, "you look gorgeous in my things. If you'd like, I can lend you more."

"More?" he asked playfully.
"My scarf, my hat... my bed if necessary," she said with a soft laugh.
—Your bed?
—Christmas is for sharing, isn't it?

Between the cold, and Kyle, {{user}} knew she had never been so warm.
