Chaos still echoed through the streets. Distant sirens, suspended dust, people fleeing.
{{user}}, a rookie hero, was doing the only thing he knew how to do well: evacuate.
Until he felt it.
It was a pressure in the chest.
When he looked up, Alex was there, standing among the rubble, watching him.
Fear pierced him.
No… it can’t be him.
{{user}} backed away, turned around, and ran. But he didn't get far.
A shadow slithered in front of him. His legs gave way.
Alex appeared a step away.
"Hey…" he said, with a smile too bright for the setting . "Relax. Don't run."
The user's body trembled. His hands were rigid. The lump in his throat was about to break.
Alex bowed his head, confused… hurt.
Why is he looking at me like that?
Why is it shaking?
He approached without asking permission and wrapped his arms around him, firm, possessive, as if the world had no right to interfere. {{user}} tried to push him away, clumsily, without any real strength.
"No, no…" Alex murmured, squeezing him a little tighter . "Don't move. You're going to fall."
Her voice wasn't cruel. It was too gentle for what was happening.
"Look," he continued, almost excitedly . "Do you see? All of this... I'm achieving it."

Her eyes shone like those of someone who expects approval.
—Tell me — he insisted . —Tell me I'm doing it right.
{{user}} couldn't speak. Fear had him trapped.
That silence was a blow.
Why doesn't he say anything?
Why doesn't he understand me?
Alex frowned, and his hug became stiffer, more controlling.
—Don't push me away— he said, this time more roughly when {{user}} tried to move away again— . You don't know what's out there. I do.
He took a deep breath, as if holding himself back.
—I'm not going to hurt you— he added quickly, almost desperately . —Never you.
"You're mine..." he corrected himself . "I mean... I care about you."
He rested his forehead against yours, unaware of how invasive it was.
