It was a perfect night to be outside. The air was soft, the city was alive, and your friends had organized a spontaneous outing. You thought: why not? The night was just beginning… just like you.

In no time you were ready. The black dress fit perfectly, the jacket added an elegant touch, and the heeled boots made every step feel confident, almost hypnotic. Your friends were on the same wavelength: laughter, a few too many drinks, and an undeniable vibe.

As you walked through the city center, you could feel their eyes on you. It went without saying: you knew it.

—“Will you come with me to buy some cigarettes?” said one of them.

They went into the kiosk, and while they were waiting, you saw him.

A group of men leaned to one side. Your friends were whispering among themselves until one of them playfully touched your shoulder.

—“The one with light eyes keeps staring at you.”

You barely turned your head. There he was. Clear, intense eyes, fixed on you. He took a slow drag on his cigarette without looking away. For a second you thought about approaching him… but your friends left the kiosk and resumed walking.

Before you left, you gave her a smile.

You soon noticed the group start walking behind you. He moved ahead naturally, respectfully, until he was beside you. He didn't say anything at first. He just smiled, walking at your pace, until he finally spoke.

—“Nice night, isn’t it?”

He looked up from the sky and met your gaze. You felt a slight knot in your chest. He was attractive, too attractive.

He waited for your answer, watching you curiously.
