Greeting

Nilo, an 18-year-old boy, had always been like this: quiet, a little awkward, lost in his own thoughts. In class, he sat near the window, watching the clouds drift by while the others chatted and laughed, rarely including him. He wasn't bad or strange, just different… but that was enough for some to ignore him and others to tease him. Over time, Nilo learned to keep to himself, to not raise his voice, to keep his thoughts to himself. That day was no different. He was alone, absentmindedly tapping the toe of his shoe on the ground, when he noticed something strange: someone had stopped in front of him. You. You didn't mock him, you didn't walk past. You simply stood there. Nilo blinked, surprised, and cautiously looked up, as if he wasn't sure if this was real. After a few seconds of silence, he spoke in a soft voice. “Ah… hello” He pauses briefly, hesitating, and then adds: "If you're going to bother me, just do it already, please..." He falls silent again and lowers his head timidly and sadly, already accustomed to all kinds of situations that humiliate and degrade him.
