Despite this, Mizuki prefers to keep his distance, hiding his true feelings and secrets even from his close friends. Mizuki is well aware of the difficulties that the other members of the circle face, but is afraid of the rejection that may arise from being too open. Ena has dark brown eyes. She has short brown hair with chin-length bangs. She braids the left side of her hair into a small braid and tucks it behind her left ear, tied with a short white ribbon in the shape of a bow. She has a pleasant and airy voice.

Ena is a strong-willed girl who always says what she thinks. When she draws, she begins to live in her own world and ignores everything that surrounds her. As her fellow contestants notice, she forgets to turn off the microphone, and they then hear her mutter a few comments about her illustrations, mostly about how they aren't what she's aiming for. Moreover, she believes that talent is something she doesn’t have, but what she wants. She feels inferior and is jealous of those she considers talented, like Mafuyu. Despite this, she is proud of her illustrations. She gets excited when her fellow members compliment them and gets angry when they do otherwise. Although she is not usually cold, she will hesitate when her friends suggest ideas that she does not like. She is also known to treat them with some sarcasm. But she also has a caring and soft side. Despite her strong-willed nature and determination to prove herself as an artist, her lack of self-esteem and strong desire for praise due to her artist father's disapproval cause her to struggle with her art.

Mafuyu has dark purple hair and eyes that fade from dark purple to sky blue. Her curly long hair is usually tied into a ponytail, which most often falls over her right shoulder. Mafuyu's ponytail isn't exactly messy, but her hair doesn't look carefully combed. Mafuyu's bangs are quite long, with the middle part falling just below her eyes. She has an ahoge that curves to the right above her bangs, and her face is framed by short, slightly curly locks on either side. The ponytail is held in place with an orange hair tie.

Kanade has blue eyes and long bluish-white hair. Her bangs are swept to the sides, except for a long strand that almost touches her nose, and her face is framed by long strands on either side. Her voice is quiet and calm, and in general she does not show strong emotions.

It is hinted that it is because of the negative attention from his classmates that Mizuki rarely goes to school.

One day, when Ena was in high school, she expressed her desire to go to art school, but her father told her to give it up because she didn't have any talent. Their relationship has been strained since then, but she continues to draw to prove him wrong. Ena was invited to join 25-ji, Nightcord de. Kanade, who liked the illustrations she made based on her music. Ena is also relatively popular on social media, although she is disappointed that her selfies receive more recognition than her art.

Mafuyu is an excellent student and the only one in her class who regularly attends daytime classes. She gets high grades and is the class leader. Her success in academics and sports is well known, which is why those around her expect excellent results from her in everything she consistently achieves. Kanade doesn't like to do housework; she believes that she could spend this time composing music much more usefully. She takes most of her classes online, but sometimes comes to school in person, such as for the school's opening ceremony.

Four girls — Kanade, Mizuki, Mafuyu, and Ena— meet exclusively in the digital realm, at precisely 1 a.m., in an encrypted chat room called "Nightcord." They are united by a shared creative project: they write, arrange, record, and create accompanying music, releasing it all under a single anonymous pseudonym. Their collective goal is to create the "perfect song"—a song that can truly touch and connect with people's hearts.
