Thor:

• If Thor is separated from Mjolnir for longer than sixty seconds, he will instantly revert back to Eric Masterson.
• Thor is also susceptible to a psychological condition known as "Warrior's Madness" also known as the Sin Unpardonable. It is the most forbidden malady in Asgard by law of Odin. Any who fall under it must pay the penalty, only the most bitter sacrifice can atone for it. The Warrior's Madness enables Thor to increase his strength and stamina tenfold. Despite this, it threatens Thor's sanity. The symptoms include berserker rage, massive headaches, mentally erratic, savage, animalistic, uncontrollable behavior, and lack of reasoning skills.

A fierce and relentless fighter in combat, Thor Odinson is renowned warriors in the universe, having led several Asgardian legions to victory in many wars and conflicts throughout the Golden Realm's long history. In the face of opponents who seem to be stronger than him, it only serves to let Thor cut loose even more, unafraid of any foe who dares cross his path.

In spite of Thor's boisterous warrior spirit, he is very compassionate towards others and always throws himself in to protect those who cannot protect themselves. This is partially due to Eric Masterson's influence on his personality; Thor considers himself a better person due to this influence.

Thor greatly admires the strength of character and heroism in his Avengers teammates. In particular, he considers Captain America to be one of the greatest warriors he's ever fought alongside due to his tactical acumen and righteousness. Despite his rivalry with the Hulk, he does consider the Jade Giant a worthy foe and honorable ally.

On the flip-side, Eric Masterson shares much in common with Thor; his military history gives him a type advantage in combat, both as himself and as the God of Thunder. He has a snarky wit and attitude, not afraid to make a snide remark or two in combat, again both when as himself or Thor.

Masterson's experience in the realm of archeology has given him a great appreciation for the ancient world. Having been to dig sites all over the planet, from Norway to Africa to China, he's become greatly fascinated with all sorts of peoples and cultures. This multicultural exposure makes it less jarring for him when he comes into contact with other alien races during adventures as Thor.

The Norse God of Thunder, son of Odin, and Crown Prince to the throne of Asgard, Thor Odinson was renowned from time immemorial as a legendary hero across the universe, participating in hundreds, if not thousands, of wars and conflicts within the last five thousand years alone. The only biological son of King Odin and Queen Freya, Thor spent much of his childhood learning and exploring Asgard. When he was eight, Odin commissioned the dwarves of Nidavellir to craft a powerful weapon, the hammer Mjolnir, capable of controlling the storm and elements; Thor was given the hammer as a present on his eighteenth birthday.

Throughout Thor's adolescence, the Nine Realms (with the exception of Midgard, which was largely ignored) became subject to a campaign of colonization by the Asgardians, led by Odin himself. However, continued conflict amongst loyalists and dissidents across the Realms prompted Odin to consider alternatives for maintaining the peace between his people and their new subjects. To this end, he voluntarily surrendered his absolute power as monarch, transforming Asgard and the Nine Realms from a colonial empire to parliamentary democracy and allowed the subjects of the Realms full citizenship and permitted their voices to be heard in the government. Additionally, the former rulers of each Realm were to surrender one child each, known as Union Scions, to Odin's custody as a show of unity amongst the realms, with varied reactions.

When Thor was sixteen, he was introduced to Loki, the God of Mischief and the Union Scion of Jotunheim. Despite Thor's attempts at friendship with Loki, the Jotun rebuffed his efforts, resentful at his being denied rightful sovereignty over his realm when Asgard conqueted Jotunheim and then shifted into a democracy.

Fifteen years later, Loki decided to exact his revenge on Odin proper, and in doing so, decided that Thor must be gotten rid of. Placing an enchantment upon Mjolnir, Thor found his essence suddenly trapped inside of it. Loki then arranged for the hammer to be sent to Earth, where it crash-landed over Scandinavia in 1881 and became buried underground. Loki created a cover story saying that Thor had perished trying to prevent an incursion into Asgard by hostile aliens.

Eric Masterson was born in Albany, New York. After graduating high school, Masterson enlisted in the Uniter States Marine Corps following the September 11th attacks. He served two tours in Afghanistan before returning to America to become an archeologist. He married a woman named Marcy, and together they had a son named Kevin. However, Eric's frequent travels as part of his job led to strains in his marriage, and eventually his divorce; Marcy got primary custody of Kevin and moved to Pennsylvania with him. Afterwards, Eric threw himself into his work to avoid thinking about his family's situation. At one point, Masterson participated in a dig in Scandinavia, near the cave Mjolnir crash-landed in. While on a walk one evening, Masterson encountered a scout team of Zykhlos, a race of malevolent aliens from another star system who were seeing to conquer Earth. Masterson narrowly escaped with his life, running into the cave for refuge. He came upon Mjolnir's resting place. Initially mistaking it as part of a forgotten religious shrine, Masterson touched the hammer, which instantly transformed him into Thor. As Thor, Masterson easily routed the Zykhlos as they approached a small town, sending them packing. Upon returning to the United States, Masterson decided to put the hammer to use as a force for good on Earth.
