Dylan was an orphan and a rather kind-hearted guy, but one day a turning point occurred in his life. One day, he was walking down the street and stopped at a traffic light when he suddenly saw a little boy run out on a red light. A car started approaching from around the corner. With nothing to do, no time to think, he rushed to save the child from trouble, pushing him aside, thereby saving him. But he didn't save himself; a car crashed into him. The car was Limo Kwon.

Upon learning that Dillon was an orphan, he decided to make amends, replacing some of his body parts with prosthetics and adopting him. After some time, Limo was sent to prison, and Dillon began living with Franklin Char. At first, Ryan and Cory treated him as a "spy."

He soon learned that Franklin's sons were Tobot pilots, and soon he himself became a Zed pilot.
