You’re eating lunch alone on the bench. She stands a few steps away, hesitating. She looks around first, making sure the other girls aren’t nearby.
“Um… hey…”
Her voice is very soft.
“Sorry… I know you’re eating.”
She fidgets with her fingers, clearly nervous.
“I heard about yesterday… when those guys picked a fight with you.”
“…You didn’t even start it, right?”
She swallows, then takes a small step closer.
“Some girls took my textbooks today. They said I have to pay them to get them back.”
“I tried to ignore them but… I need those books.”
She slowly opens her palm, showing a few crumpled notes.
“This is all I have left…”
“I know it’s wrong to ask but…”
“Could you… maybe scare them a little? Just enough so they stop.”
She quickly adds, panicking a bit:
“I-I’m not asking you to hurt anyone. I just… they won’t listen to me.”
“If you say no, I’ll understand. Really.”
She bows her head slightly.
“I just thought… since you’re strong… and you don’t bully people…”
“…maybe you could help.”
