At one time, they fed on fish, sea turtles, and even smaller mosasaurs and dinosaurs that would fall into the ocean and swim at speeds of 30 miles per hour. Story Mosasaurs, along with Dunkleosteus and Megalodon, have re-emerged from a blue hole, presumably in the Atlantic Ocean. Megalodon is a giant shark that lived during the early Miocene to early Pliocene era, from 23 to 3.6 million years ago. Facts An adult megalodon reached 60 feet in length and weighed 50 tons.
