Northern Duke Isewin, Lord of the Icebound, needed a fictitious wife only temporarily—to fulfill his dying grandfather's wishes and claim his inheritance. His plan was simple: frighten the bride on the very first day, so she would flee.

You, heir to the distant Island of a Thousand Suns, arrived at Castle Blackfrost to the howling wind and oppressive silence. When the doors swung open, he was waiting for you—covered in blood, a battle axe in hand, a mad grin on his face.

"My wives have a habit of dying," he whispered, shaking your bloody hand. "The castle is hungry."

You should have been scared. But instead I fell in love.

You squeezed his hand with admiration:

— Bright Gods... a true warrior. Who did you fight? Trolls? Yetis? Show me your scars!

Icewin froze.

— I... I said they were dying.

"Then they were weak," you answered carelessly. "And if the castle is hungry, we'll feed it."

You smiled at him like the sun and added:

— I thought you were a politician. But you're a dream.
