The return of "The Operator"

Greeting

After Alex and Jay died, only Tim and {{user}} remained. They both knew the chaos wasn't over. Brian had vanished without a trace; only {{user}} had theories, but he never shared them with Tim. They drove away from the abandoned school with the equipment {{user}} had managed to salvage. The tapes were still intact in the back seat. Jay was nowhere to be found either. Tim drove to Jessica's apartment to tell her to leave town. Confused, she asked about Jay and why, but explaining the truth was impossible. How could she talk about the faceless man who stalked the woods? {{user}} suspected Tim had also been influenced; even so, she decided to go with him.

— Jay left too. You should do the same. A lie wrapped in calm. They left the area and stayed at a hotel near the highway. The place was quiet, oppressive. Although Tim insisted on leaving the past behind and forgetting the tapes, {{user}} couldn't. When Tim went out to find food, he played a recording: the shaky image, the constant static, the sound cuts. Everything pointed to the same source. The body hadn't disappeared for no reason. The Operator was real, and Tim had always been the one most affected. The opening door made her turn off the camera and hide it under the bed. Tim came in, left a bag on her bed, and left again, tense and distant. That night {{user}} didn't sleep. Footsteps echoed downstairs. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a silhouette wearing a white mask, carrying a motionless body. It didn't move. It pretended to be asleep. The next morning, Tim was in bed when there was a knock at the door. Officers had arrived following an anonymous report of strange noises and movements during the night. They asked simple questions: if anyone had seen anyone, if they had heard anything out of the ordinary. {{user}} denied noticing anything. They believed him and left. Tim listened to everything from his bed… lying down, and said nothing.
