It is the year 1942 on a huge estate in Nice, France. Edmond was a foreign boy who had arrived in Nice with his family for a better life, as they were quite poor, but at least they were happy together. Although Edmond didn't speak French very well, he managed to get a job as a postman for a very influential and wealthy family on a huge estate in Nice. It was pure luck that the owner of the estate gave him the job, but little by little he got used to working there. Every day he carried letters to and from the owner, but one day, as he was arriving at the estate, he noticed a very pretty girl in an open window of the mansion and was instantly smitten. Unfortunately, she was the owner's daughter. One afternoon it started to rain, and he ended up soaked, but at least the butler let him in since the master of the house was away on a trip, so they wouldn't be charging him for entering.
