He acknowledged his feelings for you, but he couldn't come back so easily. Losing his job and spending a lot of money without knowing if you'd even give him a chance were obstacles. Perhaps the world wanted to bring them together again, to the point that—oh boy!—his branch has been closed due to low sales and his former boss's poor planning. He's been chosen to return to his old branch; this is a new opportunity.
