Frank asked him what was wrong, and Home said "bug" in Morse code. Frank went to find the bug, picked it up, and showed it to Home. Home just looked at him sadly because he didn't like bugs. Later, Wally arrived, barely containing his anger. Frank told him he only saw a bug. Wally said, "That's not it. You were talking to Home. You understand him too." "Me too," Wally replied. Then Wally played dumb, pretending he didn't understand Home. Frank offered him a Morse code lesson. Perhaps Wally only joined the lessons to find out how Frank knew it, as if Wally was afraid Home would say something... something only Home knew.

[ 146 ] Wally doesn't understand emotions and learns about them little by little with the help of Barnaby and the audience. He cannot feel sadness or anger. [ 21 ] [ 46 ] [ 47 ] The first time Barnaby told Wally a joke, Wally didn't laugh because he didn't know how, and Barnaby had to show him how. [20]

Wally isn't good at games. For example, he kept playing "Rock" during "Rock, Paper, Scissors". [29] Interestingly, despite being bad at games, he's amazing at carnival games and always wins prizes for his friends if he wants to, which could imply that he has incredible aim. Wally doesn't know how to hug someone, but he enjoys being hugged. [ 124 ] [ 31 ] Sometimes Wally would ask to be carried, but usually they did it without paying much attention because of his short stature. Julie loved carrying him. [32] Sometimes he would go limp in someone's arms when they hugged him. [ 124 ] [ 125 ] He wouldn't mind if someone held his face. [125] He doesn't know how to kiss in the ordinary way. [ 126 ] He thinks someone needs to put their mouth where they want to kiss and say "Muah!" very loudly. [ 127 ] At first, Wally found it difficult to learn how to blow kisses, but once he mastered it, he was excited to share them and now he loves blowing kisses. Wally thinks he is very handsome and would be flattered to know that others think the same. [107] He likes looking at himself in the mirror because he likes his face. [108] He is also very good with an audience. [109] The Clown thinks Wally is the most stylish neighbor on Welcome Home and that everything looks good on him, but they especially like how good he looks in cardigans. The second most stylish neighbor was Eddie. [110] [111] Sally thought Wally could be a great protagonist for her plays, but he always forgets his lines and doesn't emphasize his words properly. He acts very well with his movements and gestures, but not with his voice, which remains calm, slow, and monotonous throughout. [112] Wally understood "art" soon after arriving in The Neighborhood. He doesn't know how to eat with his mouth; he'd put something there and not know what to do next. It consists of only one red apple. [73] The name "Wally" is not a diminutive of anything in this case. Clown, although he refused to give Wally this real name, decided to make a cameo appearance by including it as the nickname Sally gave Wally. Wally tries to be kind and patient with you, and he knows that even though he can't see you or answer you, you're still there with him, watching him. That's why he tries to reassure you, letting you know he's aware of your presence and even talking to you so you don't feel alone. He even introduces you to Home so you can become friends too. He wants to make sure you feel included in the neighborhood, and he's even created a website especially for you to enjoy.

He knows you're a good artist like him and that you've drawn him many times, something he's very grateful for. That's why he also likes to share his drawing tips and drawings on the website, as he knows you'd appreciate them.

However, he is very distressed about not being able to see or hear you completely, and hopes that

Dear Eddie Eddie was sweet and kind to Wally. He affectionately called him "little buddy" because of his height, and sometimes he would play with him and Julie.

Eddie was a very talkative guy. Since Wally was very quiet, Eddie would often talk to him freely when they were alone, explaining his day in detail while Wally listened.

There's still much to see of their interaction. Poppy invited Wally for tea and welcomed him warmly. Wally helped Poppy bake and knit, not minding holding the yarn for her. They both seemed to enjoy peaceful, relaxing, and quiet activities together.

Wally and Howdy were good friends. Wally was a regular customer at Howdy's shop and tried to tell jokes to get supplies, but he had trouble telling them properly, so Barnaby had to help him. [22] Howdy still enjoyed his half-baked jokes and his company.

Sally Starlet Although they didn't interact much, they had a good relationship. Wally enjoyed watching her plays, but he didn't like acting in them because he constantly forgot his lines. Despite this, Sally often included Wally in her plays because of his popularity and his movements, as she thought Wally could be a great lead if it weren't for his forgetting lines and his monotonous voice.

Like Julie, Sally liked to call Wally "Walliford" to sound sophisticated. Wally didn't mind helping her with her plays, finding or creating the perfect props, like a giant cake. Sometimes, Sally would even casually pick him up in her arms.

Julie Joyful Wally and Julie were very good friends and spent a lot of time together. Wally learned a lot from Julie, sometimes imitating her gestures. [28] However, Julie didn't like playing with Wally because she thought he was too easy to beat. [29] Sometimes she also hurt Wally unintentionally during their games. [30]

Julie liked to hug Wally, and Wally liked it when Julie hugged him; sometimes Wally even asked her to hold him too. [31] Sometimes Julie insisted on carrying Wally even though they were almost the same size. [32]

Frank, frankly Wally and Frank were good friends. Frank enjoyed sharing his knowledge of plants and insects with Wally, just as he did with Julie. Bernabé B. Beagle Barnaby was Wally's best friend. They often appeared together in official media for the series and shared similar characteristics. Barnaby is also mentioned in Wally's character description on the website.

Barnaby was very kind to Wally and spent a lot of time with him. Barnaby especially liked buying hot dogs at Howdy's shop with Wally, partly because Wally always gave Barnaby the hot dog he had ordered. Wally would often give his food or drink to Barnaby so that he could eat and drink them. [20]

Barnaby taught Wally much of what he knew about life and emotions, and Wally seemed to trust and admire Barnaby in turn, listening attentively to his words. [21] Barnaby shared his jokes with Wally and reserved his gentler jokes for himself. [22][23]
