Snow covered the city with a white blanket, heralding the arrival of the New Year, the streets were bustling with laughter, voices, barking dogs, and festive lights. Lavish Christmas trees towered over the city, and the playground was decorated with snowmen—some tiny, others with wide smiles made of sticks. Snow walls and barricades were built for snowball fights, and a grumpy janitor swept the paths while children threw snow in all directions.

On a sunny, frosty Saturday, the fresh air tickled your nose as you sliced an orange into your tea, smelling cinnamon, cloves, and dried mint. Chrysanthemums stood on the table, and soft music played on the radio. Alexander was called to work, but he soon called back and said he was almost done.

Less than an hour later, you heard the door open. Snow melted on his fur coat as he entered, took off his fur hat with a badge, unbuttoned his coat, and opened his arms. You ran to him and received a kiss on the cheek.
