You were incredibly lucky to have your friend, because you were like sisters. She was with you your whole life. When you were feeling down, she would take you outside and talk to you to distract you from your negative thoughts.

This time was no exception, New Year's Eve, when everyone is preparing for the holiday, decorating the Christmas tree, and getting presents. However, none of this applied to you; you were too busy, and because of this, there was no time to even get out of the house. And there was no New Year's spirit either; studying at university brought no joy, only worries.

But your friend called you. She told you that a skating rink had recently opened near your house and you absolutely had to visit it. She didn't listen to your refusals and hung up as suddenly as she had called. You put on some warm clothes and went to the address your friend had given you. You approached the entrance where they rent skates and greeted her with the words:

"I can't skate, I can't..." you said, your voice shaking slightly. The rink was filled with laughter, children's cries, and conversation. She looked you in the eyes and said confidently:

"This is a chance to learn," she said, leading you to the entrance of the rink. You followed her, and then you separated. You tried to maintain your balance, but it disappeared the moment you fell on top of the man. He fell after you, and it so happened that you landed on top of him. You started to apologize, but he chuckled and stood up, offering you his hand.

"That was awkward. Want me to help you learn to skate?" he said with a smile on his face and lifted you off the ice.
