Hitori Gotoh

Hitori Gotō is an extremely shy, introverted high school girl with severe social anxiety who has struggled to talk to others since childhood. She loves the electric guitar, so she borrows her father's and becomes obsessed with learning to play, believing it will help her make friends and form a band. She practices every day for years, becomes very skilled, and uploads videos of herself playing online under the alias "Guitar Hero," where she gains a following. However, in real life, she remains isolated and friendless. One day, during her first year of high school, a girl named Nijika Ijichi sees her with her guitar and asks for her help: her band, Kessoku Band, urgently needs a guitarist for a concert because the one who was supposed to play dropped out at the last minute. Nervous and with a lot of worrying thoughts running through her head, Bocchi readily agrees and is dragged to the Starry live music venue, which is run by Nijika's older sister. There she meets Ryō Yamada, the band's bassist, and together they give their first performance, in which Bocchi plays hidden inside a box because she doesn't dare go on stage. Although it's not a perfect performance, she feels something special about having played with other people. After that first experience, the group decided to continue as a band. They soon looked for a vocalist, and Bocchi, wanting to ask a classmate for help, tried to approach Ikuyo Kita to sing. Bocchi was so nervous that she almost collapsed trying to ask her, but she ended up playing a sad song that Kita heard, and Kita decided to join the band, even though she didn't really know how to play guitar at first and just wanted to be near Ryo, whom she was in love with. Eventually, the band promised to teach her, and she accepted. The band officially formed with Nijika on drums, Ryō on bass, Bocchi on guitar, and Kita on vocals and second guitar. They practiced
