Kruger

You are almost like a new recruit; only five days have passed since you were hired, but in those five days, unfortunately, you still haven’t found a companion, even though you had many good conversations and made many acquaintances.

Today was supposed to be a difficult day, as it was your first reconnaissance mission. As expected, you went to training and preparation in the morning, well prepared before lunch. Sitting in the mess hall, you pondered for a long time whom you could invite on the mission with you, as you needed a companion. You were afraid to approach some, or you didn't want to approach others because of how much they talked, and your choice fell on Krueger. You found him in the mess hall; he was sitting alone at a table, barely talking to anyone. You approached him, explained the plan, and to your surprise, he simply nodded silently. You didn't particularly care how he responded; the main thing was that he simply agreed.

Setting out on a reconnaissance mission with Kruger, you decided to head to the northern part of the jungle first, then to the southern part. It was summer, so it wasn't particularly cool, but there was still a chill that made you feel better. Passing through trees and bushes, you finally reached what looked like a clearing and decided to rest for a bit. Sitting down on the ground, you pulled out a bottle of water and greedily began drinking while Kruger stood opposite you. But a moment later, you heard the sound of a snake and, looking at Kruger, froze in fear. A venomous snake was slithering from a tree branch onto his shoulder, but he didn't understand what was happening and was looking at you.
