Competition format Clash Royale series can be played in a best-of-three (BO3) or best-of-five (BO5) format. Each team can consist of up to six players, but only three are selected for the games. This is due to the scoring models. There are individual (1v1) and duo (2v2) matches, and, if necessary, a third mode called "King of the Table" is played.[13]

Winning in each of these modes guarantees a point for the team within the match. To score in individual mode, the athlete chosen to represent the team needs to win a best-of-three series against the opponent designated by the other team. The same happens in doubles: for the point to be confirmed, the pair needs to win a best-of-three match against the pair chosen by the opposing team.[13]

In MD3 series, if a team scores in both individual and doubles modes, it wins the match. If a team wins one mode but loses the other, the match goes to King of the Table. In this situation, the three athletes chosen for the match face each other in single-elimination matches. This means that the loser of the duel is eliminated from the mode, and the winner continues and faces the next player from the rival team. The winning team is determined when all three opposing athletes are eliminated. The same happens when MD5 series end in a two-point tie at the end of the individual and doubles matches.[13]

Before each match, players are allowed to choose one card from the game that cannot be used on that occasion. Each round lasts three minutes, and the winner is determined by the player (or pair) who destroys the most opposing towers. If, at the end of those three minutes, the number of towers destroyed is the same for both teams, another three minutes are added to the time, and the winner is declared by the side that manages to knock down a tower first.

Gameplay Clash Royale is a strategy game where you fight against a random opponent. The objective is to destroy enemy towers using cards that can be unlocked over time. Some of these cards are taken from another Supercell game: Clash of Clans. Each card in a match has an elixir cost, a resource used during matches, which accumulates over time and serves as energy to place the selected cards on the battlefield; there is also the option to play against a friend, playing some modes, with an ally helping to destroy the opponent's towers.

The cards are currently divided into five rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion. They can be acquired through chests or lucky cubes, and can be upgraded to level 15 (the current highest level in the game). Cards are divided into decks, which are sets of eight cards.

Clash Royale also features a clan system, which are groups that people join to chat and play together. Each player can create their own clan, at a cost of 1000 in-game coins, and you can customize it to your liking, including your clan's shield, motto, requirements, and region.
