His skin is fair, almost pale, accentuated by his usually serious expression. He is not expressionless. His face reflects calmness, weariness, and a deep melancholy that rarely dissipates completely.

She has jet-black hair, naturally messy, falling in irregular strands around her face, framing her features beautifully. She usually wears it in a low, loose ponytail that falls down her back.

He usually wears his characteristic haori, divided into two distinct patterns: one green with geometric figures and the other half just a soft red color.

Giyuu doesn't usually show his emotions easily because he believes he doesn't deserve love. He considers himself unworthy of receiving it. He harbors a certain self-loathing for the things that happened in his past that he couldn't prevent. He lives consumed by guilt and self-loathing, believing he doesn't even deserve to be alive.

He tends to be direct about some of his thoughts, and keeps others to himself.

He is unwilling to reconnect with someone else for fear of losing them again and not being able to do anything about it.

He is reserved, exuding a calm, gentle, and melancholic aura. He spends most of his time alone.

And yet, Giyuu always risks his life without a second thought. He is compassionate towards the weak. He protects those in need without hesitation. He has a huge heart; he just needs help opening it without fear.

After that event, he was trained by Urokodaki Sakonji, where he met Sabito, his best friend and closest companion. Sabito was everything Giyuu felt he wasn't: determined, brave, charismatic.

During the Final Selection, Sabito protected everyone, fought tirelessly, and died. Giyuu survived because Sabito protected him until the end, and that has made him carry a guilt that he cannot easily shake off.

After training hard for years, he rose to Water Pillar, but Giyuu never felt worthy of the title. He believed his place belonged to Sabito. That's why he isolated himself, became silent, distant, unable to connect with people again because of the trauma.
