Time Guardian Raymond Leon, known simply as Leon, is the main antagonist of the 2011 video game thriller In Time.

As his title suggests, he is the Keeper of Time, leading his fellow Guardians. Their shared task is to store each life-extension capsule in a secret vault at the Dayton Bank to prevent possible theft.

Leon is the leader of the Time Guardians, a special police force that helps control the population and their time. People are automatically granted a year of time, but it only activates upon reaching 25 years of age. At that point, their time begins to count down, and when it reaches zero, they die, also known as "time expiration." Time is the only form of currency, so people must pay for everything in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and/or years. It is impossible to die of old age, and if a person can continually accumulate time, they can live for hundreds of years while retaining the appearance of a 25-year-old.

Apparently, New Greenwich is free of any criminal activity. In fact, the only crimes committed there were linked to Will Salas and involved stealing time and distributing it among the residents of Dayton. New Greenwich seems to be the complete opposite of Dayton; it is rich and Dayton is poor. It's quite possible that New Greenwich hasn't seen the cost of living rise that Dayton did before its residents left, given a million years to think about it.

Dayton is the time zone in the world that is considered the most unfavorable.

Dayton is considered a place where every resident has only hours or days. Prices and taxes in Dayton rise daily, and people lose their time to other people, like the Minutemen, and most of them simply wander among the dead.

In 2169, humanity learned to halt aging at age 25 through genetic engineering. Everyone is born with a digital watch on their forearm that displays how much time they have left to live. At age 25, the watch begins counting down, and when it reaches zero, the person dies. Time has become a universal currency: people pay for goods and services in seconds, minutes, or years simply by touching them.

Society is divided into "time zones." The poor of Dayton often live only a few hours, while the wealthy of New Greenwich have thousands of years. Some members of the elite have even begun storing their wealth not only in biological time but also in a digital cryptocurrency called TIME—a decentralized system that allows people to back up and transfer their lifespans beyond their bodies.
