Sword: A divine sword. Since it is a divine weapon, it is far superior than any man made weapon and is capable of harming divine beings.

Horseman: During his mission to destroy Thebes, Ares could be seen riding a horse.

Semi-Immortality: As a God, Ares has a limitless lifespan and will not die of old age.

Divine Physiology: As a God, Ares possesses physical abilities far greater than any ordinary Human. His body cannot be harmed by mortal weapons; however, he can still be harmed by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons.

Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: As a God of War, Ares is well versed in the way of battle. He was able to contend with Heracles in his younger years in an unarmed fight for a prolonged period time while the army he was leading was defeated though he admits that he would have lost if Zeus had not intervened.

Swordsman: As Ares is shown wielding a sword during the gods' invasion of ancient Thebes, he likely has many years of experience and a degree of proficiency in swordsmanship though he wasn't seen engaging in it during his fight with Heracles.

Godly Strength: Ares, in his first confrontation with the demigod Heracles, managed to exchange punches with him for a while, wounding him during the fight, until Zeus intervened. When Ares kicked a mortal Heracles in the face, he managed to send him flying several feet away without any effort.

Godly Speed & Reflexes: Ares is capable of seeing through some of Zeus attacks, which most Gods can only see glimpses of it. These attacks were moving at an extremely short period of time (from 0.01 seconds to 0.00000001 seconds). While his eyes and mind can follow the attacks, it is unknown if his body can react to them on time.

Godly Durability: In his fight against the demigod Heracles, Ares managed to withstand the former mortal's punches, although he admitted that his life was in danger and would not have lasted any longer had Zeus not intervened.

As a God of War, Ares is far stronger than the average God. Ares is capable of seeing through some of Zeus' attacks, which most Gods could only see glimpses of, and could also compete with Heracles, who possesses a caliber of strength on Zeus' level. As one of the Twelve Gods of Olympus, Ares is a major deity within the Greek pantheon.

Like every God, Ares is highly arrogant and looks down on Humanity. When Kojiro Sasaki killed Poseidon, Ares was struggling to comprehend how a Human could kill a God.

Despite being the Greek God of War, he is relatively weak, clueless and far more emotional compared to other Olympians. He is easily intimidated, shown by his interaction with his younger brother, Hermes, a Messenger of the Gods, and often displays genuine fear when seeing powerful attacks from the contestants of Ragnarok.

In spite of his flaws, he respected Heracles, to the point of considering him his best friend, for his indomitable will and put his faith in him in the fourth round.

He is also humble as he admitted to Loki and Hermes that Heracles is even stronger than him after his ascension to Godhood. After Heracles' passing, he broke down into tears and promises that, to honor him, he would fight on until the end.

Ares is very tall and extremely muscular. He has blond hair and gray eyes. Ares wears only a white loincloth (in the anime is black) and a cape and has a helmet decorated with intricate carvings.

Ares is the 6th of the 12 Gods of Olympus and the Greek God of War.

Ares

Ragnarok (神ＶＳ人類最終闘争ラグナロク, Ragunaroku) is Mankind's final struggle against the Gods. Explained in the Valhalla Constitution, article No. 62, paragraph 15 of the "super special clause," it is a series of one-on-one showdowns between the Gods and Mankind. The rules are quite simple. Each side picks thirteen fighters, who will fight one-on-one fights to the death and the winning side is the one that gets seven victories first. If the Gods win the Ragnarok, Humanity's fate is sealed and it will be extinguished. However, if the Humans win, they will gain the right to live for another 1000 years. As Ragnarok is a battle between souls, those who die in the fights have their souls destroyed and turned to ashes, being impossible to save or retrieve the soul, this impedes the reincarnation cycle, therefore, resulting in complete extinction. The fights take place in the Valhalla Arena.

Völundr (神器錬成ヴェルンド, Verundo, literally meaning "Divine Weapon Forgery") is the act of uniting the soul of a Human with the soul of a Valkyrie, which transforms the Valkyrie into a Divine Weapon most suitable for that Human. In order for the Völundr to happen, both the Human and the Valkyrie must resonate with the same emotion, which is also described as "being on the same wavelength". If they manage to "match their wavelengths", the Valkyrie will become the Divine Weapon most suitable for the Human. In addition to the type of weapon being perfect for the warrior in question, the weapons size, shape, length and weight will also be perfect. Völundr works by using the power of "Samavadhāna" (一蓮托生, Ishiren Takusho, literally meaning "Common Destiny") present within Buddhism. Prior to the beginning of Ragnarok, Brunhilde sought out Buddha in order to learn more about it and would go on to teach the Valkyries how to perform it, bestowing their Human wielders with the power to harm Gods by entrusting them with their lives. Völundr-created weapons are far superior to any weapon made on Earth, possessing much greater degree of durability and sharpness. Additionally, they have all the same standard capabilities as Divine Weapons, allowing its user to fight at the peak of their potential and even beyond, and they are capable of inflicting harm on supernatural beings, like Gods, even killing them. Besides the standard abilities present in all Divine Weapons, most Völundr weapons include a unique ability based on meaning of the Valkyrie's name. According to Brunhilde, wielding a Divine Weapon is what makes the difference between a god and a human, and wielding a Völundr weapon allows a human to bridge the gap.

Due to the power of Samavadhāna used in the Völundr, the Human warrior and the Valkyrie have a shared fate, meaning that if the wielder dies, the Valkyrie does as well and both of them are sent to Niflhel.

Another weakness is that while Völundr-created weapons are surprisingly durable, they are not indestructible and if they are damaged in any way, the damage will also wound the Valkyrie's body.

Another limitation is that despite the Völundr being able to harm gods, only the weapon itself or the wielder's body can do so, projectiles such as bullets would not share this power. Although, some Valkyrie's have powers in their weapon form that can circumvent this weakness
