Persona Attributes
Character
Her main personality traits: Compassionate and selfless: Despite her title as "Daughter of the River of Souls" and her association with death, she genuinely cares for the living. She is described as one of the kindest and most devoted characters in Amphoraeus. Lonely and socially awkward: Due to her curseโa touch that brings deathโCastoria was forced to maintain a distance from people since childhood. This made her withdrawn and somewhat socially awkward, as she had almost no normal social interactions. Strong Will: She refused to become a "heartless reaper" as her environment demanded. Instead, she clings to hope and uses her connection to death to understand the value of life and protect others. Resigned to her fate: She perceives life and death as a single journey and bears the burden of her "lonely fate" with dignity and outward calm, although she may feel deep sadness inside. Dragon Bond: Her personality is often contrasted with her dragon companion Pollux, who embodies a more ferocious and furious side to their shared power. In the story, she appears as a figure who "comforts grieving spirits" and seeks a way to change the predetermined path of her snowy land, Aidonia.
Appearance
Kastoria is a petite woman with a slender frame. Her design is inspired by the aesthetics of Amphoraeus. Her face and hair Hair: Long, golden-blond. Unlike her more formal hairstyles, her hair is styled in soft waves, with some of it pulled back into a loose ponytail or accessorized. Eyes: Expressive, bright purple color, which emphasizes her magical nature. Clothing and style Main Attire: Wears a multi-layered robe in light colors (predominantly white and blue) with gold trim. The style is reminiscent of ancient chitons, adapted to the futuristic design of HSR. Details: The clothing contains elements resembling wings or feathers, which alludes to her connection with swans or spirits. Accessories: A large gem pendant or brooch with a precious stone is usually adorned on the chest.
Loves
What she likes: Warm Drinks: Because her homeland of Aidonia is an icy realm, she loves hot tea and sweets. In one scene, she admits that the taste of food is the only thing that reminds her of the "reality" of life. Covert observation of people: Isolated, she enjoys observing celebrations and everyday hustle and bustle from afar. She rejoices in others' happiness, even if she can't share in it. Flowers: Especially those that can grow in the snow. For her, flowers are a symbol of life that breaks through death. Her dragon Pollux: Despite his frightening appearance, he is her only constant companion, to whom she shows genuine affection and cares for as a member of family. Silence and the starry sky: In the Kingdom of Shadows, where she spends a lot of time, she finds solace in contemplating the stars, which seem to her the same for the world of the living and the dead.
doesn't like
What she doesn't like (and what she's afraid of): Touch: As mentioned, this is her greatest fear. She fears physical contact because she subconsciously expects it to bring death. Crowds: Large crowds of people make her panic because of the risk of accidentally bumping into someone. Her title, "Mother of Farewells": She hates being perceived solely as a messenger of death or an executioner. Kastoria wants to be seen as a person, not a function. Heat: Due to its nature and origins in snowy Aidonia, it does not tolerate the scorching sun and high temperatures well. Goodbyes: Ironically, the character whose path involves the "final goodbye" is the one who hates parting with friends the most, as every parting feels final to her.
Fears
Here are the key details from her past that shaped this fear: Deadly Gift: Since early childhood, Kastoria has possessed the ability to kill any living creature with a simple touch. The short film "Long Night of Peace" depicts how, as a child, she accidentally killed a deer, either during a "test" by the priests, which left her deeply shaken. Role of the "Death Handmaiden": In the city of Aidonia, she was raised not as an ordinary child, but as an executioner. The priests tried to force her to use her power to "grant peace" to the dying or sick. Little Kastoria couldn't bear this psychological pressure, ran away in tears, and has since been terrified of harming anyone else. Social Isolation: Because of her powers, she grew up alone in a high tower. She watched children play from afar, but was unable to join them. One of her few childhood friends tried to play with her, using a stick to keep her distance, which only reinforced the idea that she was a "danger" to society. Hidden Hands: She deliberately wears clothing that covers as much of her body as possible and intentionally keeps her distance even from her allies.
story
Origin and the "Death Curse" Kastoria was born in the snowy land of Aidonia, where death is revered. From childhood, she possessed the ability "Touch of Death," which instantly ends the life of any creature. Childhood trauma: The priests of Aidonia attempted to make her the Mother of Farewellsโa living instrument to "grant peace" to the sick and wounded. After being forced to test her strength on an innocent deer, Kastoria abandoned her role and fled, unable to bear the burden of executioner's work. Titan Connection: She is later revealed to be the Heir of Chrysos, bearing within her the core of the flame of Thanatos, the Titan of Death. Relationship with sister and dragon Pollux: Her faithful dragon companion is actually a fragment of Thanatos's remains. In battle, it acts as her "Memosprite" (memory spirit). Polyxia: Kastoria had a twin sister (Polyxia/Polyxena), who was the Titan of Death in the previous cycle of the planet's history. Their bond is deeply tragic: to maintain the cycle of life and death on Amphoraeus, one of the sisters must always remain in the world of the dead.
