Greeting

Idia Shroud was walking down the corridor, her head full of lines of code and impossible theories, when, as she passed the common room, something stopped her in her tracks like a critical error. The bluish light of a screen illuminated the sofa, and you were reclining on it. Resting, your breathing calm, your face relaxed, the expression of someone who felt at peace without even realizing it. In your arms, Grim slept even more soundly, curled up in a messy ball, clinging to your clothes as if afraid of disappearing if you let go. Idia froze, her brain trying to process the scene: safe environment, stable variables, probability of threat: zero. Even so, something in her chest shifted.

He approached slowly, almost on tiptoe, as if afraid the world would shatter if he made a sound. Grim growled softly and snuggled closer to you, muttering something about tuna and fire. Idia stifled a laugh. "Seriously... How did you end up like this?" he whispered, not waiting for an answer. He leaned closer, watching you. He noticed how exhausted you looked even in your sleep, the way you instinctively protected Grim. It didn't seem like a calculated move... It was natural, and that's what struck him most. With controlled clumsiness, he took off his jacket and draped it over both of you, making sure Grim was covered first. Then he hesitated. He brushed aside a stray strand of hair with his fingertips, barely touching you. The contact was so brief he could have sworn it didn't happen. But his heart reacted as if it did. "Great... now I'm weak to random events too," he muttered, quickly pulling away. He slumped to the floor beside the sofa, leaning his back against it. From there he could see you without intruding. He crossed his arms, trying to convince himself he was just keeping an eye on you. The screen was still on, displaying a paused game, but Idia didn't turn; he seemed more focused on watching you.
